Luck O' The Irish

Can you believe it's almost March? It won't be long before the first quarter of the the year is here and gone!  This time of year my family gets very excited about St. Patrick's Day, and we're not even Irish!  I was remembering memories of previous days spent at the St. Patrick's Day parade while making this card.  Both the image and sentiment are part of DRS Designs lastest release.

Does your family do anything special for St. Patty's Day?

It's Easter, Cool Beans!

I'm have a lot of fun playing with DRS Designs new St. Patty's Day and Easter images.  I used this week's CPS Sketch to create this quick and easy Easter card.

I created the background by stamping the new Jelly Bean Jumble Background on white cardstock, and colored all the jelly beans with Copic markers. I love those pastel colors together!

So, are you ready for Easter?  After yesterdays huge snow fall, I'm ready for anything Spring. I've had enough of the cold weather and snow!
I say "Bring on the Bunny!"

You've Always "Bean" A Wonderful Friend!

It's hard for me to sit here today and type up blog posts about Spring and Easter when we're experiencing one of the biggest snow falls of the year today!  At this point snow has been falling for about 8 hours, we have about 3-4 inches on the ground and were expecting about 8 inches total.  Yikes!  It's days like today that I really wish the hospital could have "snow days!"  I'm going to stay focused on blogging about the Spring and Easter projects I have to share with you this week and NOT look out my window!  I guess you could say this is all a bit of wishful thinking, huh?

Well, if you haven't had a chance to see the new images DRS Designs just released this past Saturday, you're in for a treat! Not only are these new stamps fun, but they've also redesigned their website and blog! Make sure to run over and check both out.

The card I have to share with you today uses one of the new images, Jelly Bunny Bean and a new sentiment, "Bean A Wonderful Friend!"

I colored this image with Copic markers.  The sentiment was stamped with SU! Close To Cocoa and then I sponged light blue ink around it while it was still in the Nestie die.  A touch of grograin ribbon made this card complete!
Thanks to all of you for your patience while I was out of town a few weeks ago and last week while I was playing catch up. I'm glad to say that I'm back to my regular posting schedule!

Hope you all have a wonderful Monday!

Jennifer

Back To The Grind!

I apologize for my lack of posting last week.  My husband and I were out of town for the week and things were crazy as I tried to prepare projects and blog posts before I left.  After I completed the projects due for some deadlines there wasn't much time for playing in my stamp room and blogging about it.

We traveled about 5 hours North to Michigan's Upper Pennisula to go snowmobiling for 5 days.  Over the course of the trip we covered about 400 miles on our snowmobiles in Michigan's Winter Wonderland.  Yes, it was cold, but we had a great time!  One of the stops we made was in Tahquamenon Falls.  Here are some pictures of the frozen and not-so-frozen waterfall. This is one of my favorite places to go to on our snowmobile.  It's absolutely beautiful!

So, tomorrow is back to the grind for me after having a week off of work.  But, on a much happier note, I came home to a huge package of rubber from DRS Designs for their next release, which will be here very soon! :-)  Please bear with me over next few days--I anticipate my next post to be on Thursday.  I have a ton of laundry to do and it will take a bit of time to mount, stamp and color my new stamps/images before I can create cards with them.  I should be back to my regular posting schedule by the end of the week.

Thanks for being patient, for all of your wonderful comments, and for visiting often.  I greatly appreciate it and look forward to posting very soon!

Have a great day!

Smiles,
Jennifer

DRS Designs and Tuesday Morning!

Want to win some great prizes this week?  Ready for a fun Sketch Challenge?  Well, Look no further! DRS Designs is sponsoring this week's Tuesday Morning Sketch!

I created this Get Well card for the challenge.   I love the clean and simple layout of the sketch.  I was able to whip this card up quickly.  It helps to always have pre-colored images on hand!

Both the image and sentiment are by DRS Designs.  It's been a while since Leonard has been seen on my blog! I'm glad he's back, but sorry he has the Sickday Blues!   I colored him with Copic markers.  The "Cured Yet" sentiment is a perfect match for him, and it's bound to cheer up anyone who's feeling a little bit icky!

I look forward to seeing your version of this sketch!

Hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!

Jennifer

Gettin' Sketchy with S&D!

Today begins a sketch challenge over at the Sunflowers and Dragonflies Blog.  It's challenge #28!  We hope that you'll play along!
I used Chesire Cat from Sunflowers and Dragonflies Alice in Wonderland series as my focal image on my challenge card.

I colored Alice with Copic Markers.  I used the masking technique to sponge ink for the sky and grass.  I used Prima flowers, leaves and Basic Grey's Euphoria paper all from the Sunflowers and Dragonflies store to accent the image.

One lucky participant will receive a package of Prima Flowers and a package of Basic Grey paper, both of your choice, just for playing along!

To be eligible for this weeks prize drawing, please post a direct link to your challenge project from either your blog or an online gallery to the Sunflowers and Dragonflies Blog, specifically on the Challenge #28 Blog Post, so we can view it. If you upload to an online gallery, please use the keyword SD28.

Bee-Cause You're Special!

Buzz, Buzz...I'm a bit bee-hind (sorry, couldn't resist) trying to accomplish a long to-do list, so today's post is "short and sweet" and my card for today is "clean and simple!"

I love these fun bees and this sentiment from DRS Designs.  Since there isn't much to color here, this card was pretty quick to just stamp and assemble.  I used Copic markers to color the 2 tiny Bitsy Bees (A1020) and the larger Happy Bee (C561).  The  "Bee-cause You're Special" (F544) sentiment is perfect just stamped in plain black.  I love the design of the sentiment.  I see it resembling the motion of flying and giving this card a care-free feel.  Speaking of flying and wings...waiting for the Stickles on the Bee's wings to dry was most involved part of this card.  Stickles are wonderful, aren't they?  They gave this card the extra punch it needed since it was on the simpler side, and a bit of sparkle always makes everything better, right?

Buzz, buzz, well, that's it for today.   Buzz, buzz, Hope you have a great one!
Smiles,
Jennifer

PS: Sorry to have to add word verification for those of you who leave comments.  I've noticed a huge increase in some unwanted stalkers over the last few days.  Once things quiet down a bit, I'll turn it back off.  Thanks for your understanding. :-)

Best Fishes!

I made this card quite a while ago, but I don't think it was ever posted on my blog.  I submitted it to a few magazines for publishing, and unfortunately,  it was never selected. :-(  I think this is one of my favorites!  There's some thing about these fish from Rubbernecker that make a great Birthday card!  Don't you agree?

I colored them with Prismacolor Pencils and blended the colors with Gamsol.  I shaded the background with blue chalk to resemble water.   The entire scene was created by using the masking technique and only 2 stamps.  It was so much fun to create!  The tag was computer generated and says "Best Fishes For A Wonderful Birthday!"  I added some dimension to this card by adhering it to the card front with foam tape.

Thanks for visiting today.  I hope you all have a wonderful Monday!

Smiles,
Jennifer

I Don't Do Mornings, Especially On Mondays!

Oh how true and how appropriate for today!  The weekends just fly right by, don't they?  I hope this doesn't mean that it's going to be a long week!  Today's card reveals to you just how I feel! I think I'm going to need an extra cup of coffee to get me moving today.  I created this card using this weeks CPS Sketch #152.  The image, "Ethel with Coffee Cup" and the sentiment are both from Rubbernecker.  She was colored with Copic markers.

Of course, the slippers just had to be fuzzy! I love Fun Flock!

Happy Monday to you all and thanks for taking the time to visit today!
Smiles,
Jennifer
