Jelly Beans!

Happy Easter!

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and if you are off of work or school this week, enjoy that too! I unfortunately won't be enjoying either.  I have to work today and the rest of this week, but it's ok! I have some time away from work coming up very soon and I'm spending it with a bunch of crafty friends--nothing but stamping for 4 whole days!  More on that later. For now how about this fun Jelly Bean Easter card?!?!?

All of the stamps I used on this card are by DRS Designs.  I started by stamping the Full Belly Easter Greeting (230H) with dark purple ink.  While it was in a Nestie die I sponged the inside edge with pink ink. For the bottom panel, I stamped the Jelly Bean Jumble Background (241D) repeatedly and colored them with Copic Markers in fun Spring-time colors to match.

I also created this card with the DRS Blog challenge in mind this week to use paper flowers.  I added a purple Prima flower for the challenge that was embellished with a light pink button that was threaded with purple and white twine bow.  The shimmer purple cardstock base measures 4.25" x 5.5."

I hope you have fun hunting for eggs and lovin' up the Easter Bunny!
Thanks for stopping by!

With Faith

There's a new challenge this week over at DRS Designs and the theme is "Paper Flowers." I didn't originally plan for this to be my challenge card, but since it's Holy week I thought something with a religious theme was more appropriate.  No worries though, you'll see my other challenge card in just a few days!

This is a note card that measures 3.5" x 5." I used the Impossible Faith Greeting (1025G) on the banner for the focal point of my card.  I stamped it in 2 colors of ink to highlight the word "Faith."  It is popped up to add a bit of dimension.  Off to the side of the card front I also stamped the Triple Crosses (510G) using Versamark ink. Can you identify the other 2 stamps I used on this card?

The background design is not designer paper--I stamped it using the Original Plaid Background (641P). Can you see the pattern on the flower petals? That was done with the Material Maker Square (583L)I stamped my cardstock with it before cutting the flowers out with a paper punch.  They were also adhered using foam tape.  A decorative border punch and some lime-green twine helped finished this card nicely.

I also created this card for this week's Ways To Use It Challenge on SCS to use gingham.
Thank you so much for stopping by.

Under The Weather

Looking for another opportunity to win a $15 store voucher to DRS Designs? Use the (Oh, so cute!) inspiration photo below to create a card and then run over to the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge Blog to link it up for your chance to win.

On first glance, I was going to create an Easter card for my challenge project, but I decided on a Get Well card instead using the adorable Ducks Decoration image (565H)

The flower in this image reminded me of an umbrella and it's almost like the Chicks are hiding from the rain. So, I colored the image with Copic Markers, masked it and stamped the Raindrop Background (1012H) over top. I also used the Easy Grass Background (059E) at the bottom. This little scene is perfect for the Under The Weather greeting (047G). Finished card size is 4.25" x 5.5."

Hope you like it!

Easter Lily

Easter is one week away! It's hard to believe that it's even Spring with all of the cold weather and pending snow we have on the way. We may just have to do the Easter Egg Hunt indoors this year.

Today I'm sharing one of my last few Easter cards with you.  Both the image and sentiment are by DRS Designs. I colored the Circle Lily (437G) with Copic Markers and fussy cut it.  This was rather easy though, since I just cut on the thick black line around the image and then around the lily flowers that stick out beyond the circle. The Abundance of Spring Greeting (527G) was stamped on the background panel next to the image as shown. After layering some pastel cardstock and using a border punch on the bottom-most layer, the card front was adhered on to a pink cardstock base. Finished size measures 5" x 3.5." To add to it's elegant look, I added different sized pearls to the bottom border.

Well, that's it for now. Gotta finish cleaning up my *extremely* messy crafting desk.
Thanks for stopping by!

So Long Winter!

Yeah, it's the First Day of Spring!
I'm ready to say "So Long Winter!"

In honor of the big change of seasons, I've created this card.  Both the Flower Border (1076H) and the Goodbye Winter Greeting (384G) are from DRS Designs.

The flower border was colored with Copic Markers  and fussy cut. Then I adhered them in place above and below the sentiment as shown.  The middle flower on the bottom panel was popped up for dimension.

How's the weather in your neck of the woods?
Are you ready to say "So Long" to Winter too?

Irish Blessing Wreath

Hi Stampers!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I'm back again today to share a wreath card I made with you. I started by stamping and coloring the Shamrock Circle (619L) and then I fussy cut it.  Next I adhered 3 different layers together for the card front.  The top panel was dry embossed, the middle panel was decorated with a border punch, and the bottom panel was stamped with the Troubles Be Less Greeting (693F). Then I used a circle Nestability die to cut the hole in the center and added brads to the far left side as shown.

A piece of green cardstock was used for the 4.25" x 5.5" card base.  I used the card front as a stencil and traced the center circle with a pencil on the card base so that I could make sure that I die cut a hole in the card base to match the hole in the card front.  The card front was then adhered to the base and the Shamrock Circle was adhered over the top of the opening.  I completed the card front by adding a beautiful white satin bow to the top of the wreath.

I used a piece of white cardstock for the inside panel and stamped only the middle portion of the Shamrock Blessings 3" Giga Oval (461K) in the area inside the wreath.  This allowed the words "An Irish Blessing" to be seen in the middle of the wreath when the card was closed.  I had a lot of fun making this and I hope you enjoyed seeing it!

Thinking Of You!

The new challenge on the DRS Designs blog that started today is "Baskets."  I chose to use the Picnic Basket (1104K) for the main focus on my card. I colored it with Copic Markers, masked it, and sponged blue ink around it while it was in a Nestie die.

Then, I created my own coordinating paper by stamping the Checkerboard Background (342P) in red to look like the table cloth seen in the image and then I stamped the little ants from the right side of the image randomly over the checkered area. For the sentiment banner I used a portion of the Sitting Thinking Greeting (398F). The 3 elements of my card front were arranged as shown and adhered on to a 5.5" x 4.25" red cardstock base.

Golfer's Birthday!

Even though St. Patrick's Day and Easter are right around the corner, I'm taking a break from creating cards for those holidays at the moment.  I'm thinking Spring and Summer right now, cause they're right around the corner too!  Today's weather inspired me to create this Golfer's Birthday card.  It was a rather Spring-like day with temperatures about 60 degrees and with this kind of weather, I know many of my family members are eagerly thinking "GOLF!"

Since it was so nice out, I kept things CAS so that we had time to go outside for awhile.  Both stamps are by DRS Designs.  I stamped the Silhouette Male Golfer (038G) on the pennant.  The inked frame was created by masking off the edges with Post-It Notes and sponging blue ink around the image and I inked the edges of the white card front as well with the same ink.  I used a border punch for the decorative layers in the background and once the layout was in place on the card front, I stamped the Back Nine Birthday Greeting (658F) in the space next to the pennant.  Finished card size is 5.5" x 4.25."

Are you inspired by this card, but want to make it more feminine?  No problem! Use pink cardstock instead of the blue and stamp the
Silhouette Female Golfer (1149G) on the pennant instead of the male!

Have a great day!

Petals On A Shamrock

It's that time of year where Leprechauns get excited for St. Patrick's Day and I know the big Leprechaun in my house (My Hubby) can't wait to pull out his bag pipes and celebrate!
DRS Designs is celebrating a bit too.  Their challenge this week is Shamrocks and 4 leaf clovers. Here's my challenge card.

I created this as a note card that measures 5" x 3.5."  All of the elements you see (other than the brads, of course) were stamped.  The Background was created with the Shamrock Background (326H).  I used the Petals Of A Shamrock Greeting (459G) as my focal point and I gently sponged it with green ink while it was still in a rectangle Nestie die.  I made my own embellishment with the Silhouette Clover (453C) by sponging it, die cutting and matting it, and then popping it up on foam tape.

Well, I'm off and running today with a busy day ahead.  Hope you've enjoyed this card!
Until next time...

Jennifer

For starters, DRS Designs is sponsoring the Tuesday Morning Sketch this week!  Up for grabs is a $15.00 Store voucher to DRS Designs for playing with the sketch below.

I used it to create another Easter card that shows off the Jelly Bunny Bean (221M), the Large Original Plaid (641P), and a portion of the Abundance of Spring Greeting (527G). The bunny was colored with Copic Markers and the plaid stamp was used to make my own coordinating paper in with blue and pink ink on purple cardstock.  I also used it to create the lines in the background on my card front that were simply stamped with Versamark ink.

Also, don't forget that the Stamp-A-Versary contest is still going on over on the DRS Designs Blog.   Click the link in the description below to read all the details, enter the contest, and see pictures of the fabulous prizes.

Easter Promise

I can't believe it's March and the Easter Holy season is already underway! Where does the time go? Seems like Christmas and New Years were just last week! Perhaps it all feels so rushed because Easter is early this year. Well, regardless it's time to start showing off my Easter cards (St. Patty's Day too, stay tuned!) before it's too late! And, that's exactly what I have in store for you today!

The 2 stamps I used on this card are by DRS Designs:

I used the Easter Promise Greeting as my focal point. I stamped it in purple ink and used the same ink to shade around it while it was in a Nestie die. I decorated it with a few purple rhinestones and matted it with an oval scallop made from shimmer purple cardstock.

I used a 4" x 4" piece of light purple cardstock for the middle layer and embossed it with the Cuttlebug Textile Texture embossing folder. The bottom was punched with the Treading Water border punch. I decorated it by adding a pearl to each of the holes created by the border punch, and white grosgrain ribbon was tied in a knot just above the border.  I used smooth white cardstock for the background layer and stamped the bottom portion 3 times with the Cross In A Cross stamp.

Finished card size measures 4.25" x 5.5".

Don't forget to run over to DRS Designs and check out today's clue for the Stamp-A-Versary contest! DRS has several prizes up for grabs including a 20 stamp grand prize package. Make sure to enter today!

Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your visit!

Seaside Sympathy

It is both unfortunate and ironic that I need a sympathy card this week while DRS Designs is holding their Sympathy challenge.  I don't normally like to have to make a sympathy card when one is actually needed, but a friend of mine over at the Stamp Shack posted a card in the gallery that inspired today's card. (Thanks Amy!)

I created the background by inking a small acrylic block and stamping it directly on my cardstock with 3 different colors. Then I heat embossed the Sea Grass (128L)  and the One Line In Sympathy (262B) sentiment over top.

I added natural twine tied in a knot to the focal image and then added a small panel behind it that was dry embossed with the Swiss Dots folder.  This is a small note card, finished card size is 5" x 3.5."

Thanks for taking the time from your busy weekend to visit my blog!

Smiles,
Jennifer
